Manakamana temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati who is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati. The name Manakamana is made up of two words. The word “Mana” means heart and “Kamana” means wish. The name was given to the temple because it is believed that the person who prays to her shrine his/her wish is granted by goddess Bhagwati.
In this temple, mostly newlywed couples go who want to give birth to a son. The temple is located on top of an edge 4,722 ft. above the sea level. The view from the top is spectacular. You can see the Manaslu- Himachal, and Annapurna ranges from the temple.
How To Get There:
You can hire a car or travel by a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Kurintar which is about 104 kilometers which will take about 4 hours. From there you can travel by cable car which takes about 10 minutes or you can go on hiking.
