Arrive at Kathmandu anytime. A comprehensive pre-trip orientation will be conducted at 1900 by your trip leader at the hotel. So make sure to arrive by then. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

First off, you’ll be meeting your tour guide at the hotel, and a small trip briefing session will be held. After this, you’ll start your sightseeing program for the day. Visit Budhanilkantha, a temple complex dedicated to the Hindu deity Vishnu. Next on the list is Chandragiri Hill, a rather recent attraction that opened in Kathmandu. Overlooking Kathmandu valley at an altitude of 2,551 meters above sea level and only accessible by cable-car, Chandragiri is one of the finest vantage points nearby Kathmandu for mountain viewing.
Stop at Thamel and get your mountain bikes, then drive straight to Namobuddha, which should take around 2 hours. Namobuddha is a popular hillstation in the outskirts of Kathmandu, at 2200 meters altitude, which is popular for its tranquil environment. Explore the forests and the local monastery, meet the locals and the monks. Bring out your bikes and go exploring the countryside.

Enjoy the sunrise and mountain viewing at Namobuddha, and have your breakfast. Visit the monastery in the morning and the monks performing their daily rituals. Check-out from Namobuddha, get your bikes and cycle down to Dhulikhel, a scenic hillstation popular for its 180 degrees Himalayan panorama. Explore the nearby Newari town and see the local temples. Then cycle further afield to the ancient town of Panauti. The ride should take around 2 hours’. Once a major trading center with its own royal palace, Panauti has fallen from grace but is still captivating and beautiful. Explore the perfectly preserved houses and temples of Panauti. Enjoy a homestay experience at Panauti. Meet your local hosts and go to their homes. Have a fabulous Newari dinner and tuck in for the night.

Have breakfast and and say your farewells to your hosts. Drive back to Thankot, Kathmandu, a 2 hours’ drive, leave your vehicle behind and hike to Chitlang village, a 4 hours’ hike. Chitlang village, often dubbed the Switzerland of Nepal, is popular for its pristine environment and excellent hiking trails, and the local fruit farms adding to the charm. Take only a small backpack with you and leave the luggage back in the vehicle. Check-in to Organic Village Resort in Chitlang on arrival. Explore the nearby village, pay a visit to the local school and meet the students. Walk back to the resort. Have your dinner in the evening and tuck in to your tents for the night.

Have your breakfast and check-out from the resort. Then hike for 2 hours to reach the artificial reservoir / lake of Kulekhani. Enjoy boating in the tranquil waters of the artificial lake. Explore the nearby fishing village and try out the local delicacies.
Then get on your vehicle and drive to the highway town of Daman, a 2 hours’ drive. Daman is a popular stop on the highway to Hetauda, and due to its altitude and unique location, the place offer amazing clear views of the mountains to the north, the most prominent being Mount Everest. Check-in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. You can also opt to visit the nearby Sim Bhanjhyang, a scenic viewpoint above Daman, in the afternoon.

Have an early breakfast and drive early to the industrial town of Hetauda. Then take the eastern road and drive to Janakpur, total 7 hours’ drive. Check-in to your hotel in Janakpur. Janakpur is a city with a history that goes back ages. Once the capital of the Kingdom of Mithila, Janakpur proudly displays its origins with colorful Mithila art and the unique architecture. Visit the Janaki Temple, dedicated to Sita, the heroine of the Hindu epic Ramayana. Also visit the Bibaha Mandap where Ram is said to have married Princess Sita of Mithila. Spend the evening exploring the local markets of Janakpur.

Wake up early and go out into the streets of Janakpur. Experience the vibrance of the bustling city, and have a local breakfast. Then drive to Chitwan National Park, one of Asia’s best and most popular wildlife viewing areas. Famed for its population of the extremely rare One-Horned Rhinos and the even rarer Royal Bengal Tigers, Chitwan hosts an unbelievably diverse flora and fauna. The drive should take around 7 hours’. Check-in to one of the popular jungle resorts and spend the afternoon at leisure. Attend a Tharu cultural performance in the evening.

Hike to the nearby Rapti River in the morning and get on your canoes. Your expert jungle guide will navigate you alongside the river bank, giving you ample opportunities to see some amazing species of migratory birds and the popular Gharial Crocodiles basking in the morning sun.
Then meet the friendly elephants of Chitwan and go on an hour long Elephant-back jungle safari. The ride gives you the chance of seeing lots of deer, rhinos, birds and crocodiles along the river sides, and even the rare and elusive Royal Bengal Tiger.
Next will be a jeep drive which will take you deep into the jungle, where the chances of seeing the tigers and other rare species are higher. On the specially modified local vehicles, experience the adrenaline! Also drive around the popular Bis Hajari (Two Thousand) Lakes, and see the majority of Chitwan’s bird species.
Next will be an ox-cart ride. Get on your carts pulled by live oxen and visit the nearby Tharu village. Also visit the Tharu Ethnic Museum and interact with the locals.

Have your breakfast early and leave Chitwan. Drive 3 hours’ to the border town of Bhairahawa. Then drive further afield to UNESCO world heritage site of Lumbini, which is the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. Check-in to a local hotel and explore the site. Get your passes and enter the Lumbini UNESCO site. Get on the local rickshaws and visit the popular Lumbini museum, the Mayadevi Garden and the Ashoka Pillar. Also visit the Monastery zone and see monasteries made by various Buddhist countries as a contribution to the Lumbini religious area. Get your local bicycles and explore the markets and surroundings. Cycle back to your hotel in the evening.

Leave Lumbini early and drive to Kathmandu, should take around 8 hours’. Direct transfer to your hotel on arrival.
Attend a Nepali feast and farewell dinner, at a typical Nepali palace-type setting, alongside a traditional Nepali cultural performance. Drive back to your hotel for the night.

Choose one of our group departure dates and book your seat. Be a part of a fun group led by one of our experienced trip leaders. This trip focuses on value for money and on the interactions with people from all over. If you value privacy above all other things, this trip is not for you.

Private Trip:

If one of our group departures do not suit your calendar, or if you value privacy above everything else, choose our private trip option. Though the trip may not provide value for money as the fixed departures do, this trip will be organized entirely for your or your own group, on the date of your choosing, with specialized care provided to your requests.

Things to know:


- On fixed departure trips, accommodations at Kathmandu and Pokhara will be organized at 3-star or similar hotels / resorts with all modern amenities.

On private trips, three accommodation options (standard, deluxe and premium) will be provided as choices. Accommodations will be arranged as per the chosen standard during booking. Read our accommodation standard article for more info.

This trip also includes accommodation at homestays / tents, which is not a star-rated accommodation. The facilities provided at these places is basic and modern amenities may not be available.

Sharing & Supplement:

- All accommodations will be arranged on double and triple sharing basis, depending on the group sizes. If you are booking solo, our team will arrange a room sharing for your with a fellow traveler of the same gender.

A single room can also be availed on supplementary basis. The single supplement option will be provided as an add-on during check-out.

Starting & End points:

- Trips will start and end at the designated joining points in Kathmandu. The joining point will be an easily accessible hotel in the downtown areas within an hour’s drive from Tribhuvan International Airport. The specific names and address will provided after booking. A trip orientation program and meeting, starting from 1900, will be conducted at the joining point on Day 1, which the participants are recommended to attend.

Arrival & departure transfers:

- All trips, both private and fixed departures, do not include airport pickup & drop facilities on the base option. However, these options can be selected as add-ons during check-out.
